Licensing and inspecting food service operations and
investigating nuisance complaints including interior and exterior housing
and non-residential property inspections, are some of the primary
functions of the Department. The Department works to investigate nuisance complaints regarding insects or rodents, garbage, abandoned autos and sewage. The Health Department is also available to assist with animal control investigations including stray or injured animals and animal neglect. Stray animals are safely transported to the animal Shelter in Trenton. Public Health nurses and the Department physician provide education to community groups on various health topics. Examples include heart health, diabetes control and prevention and immunization. |
