Two copies of the plans with the below information must be submitted along with a Building Permit Application. The following information is required to be shown on residential buildings and additions including accessory buildings and structures. If the work involves alterations or remodeling, not all the below items may apply. However, it will provide a guide to the type of details required to be submitted.

1. Plot plan showing street location; the location of the proposed building or addition and all existing buildings on the site; include all building dimensions and setback and yard dimensions; distances between all buildings; location and sizes of all utility lines; all easements of record; indicate sidewalk and driveways.

2. Foundation plan showing basement, crawl space, or slab and how they are to be constructed.

3. Floor plan showing all relevant information such as door swings, stairs and ramps, windows, etc., and must be sufficiently dimensioned to describe all relevant space sizes. All rooms and spaces must be named to indicate their use. The plans must show the location and type of all plumbing fixtures; hot water heaters and furnaces with fuel type; vents, exhaust fans, fireplaces, chimneys and stairways.

4. Describe the general building construction including wall, ceiling, floor and roof materials and construction including a complete structural description of any new construction or existing construction proposed to be altered. This includes beam and header sizes and locations; joist sizes and spaces; and the connections for all of the above. Much of the above information can be shown by drawing sections of walls and/or the building.

5. Front, side and rear views completely describing the exterior of the building including floor to floor dimensions.

6. Additional graphic or text information as may be reasonably required to allow review of any special or extraordinary construction methods or equipment.
