Fence Permit Guidelines A Building Permit is required for all fences over 42” in height. Please utilize the fence form to provide details of the fence placement and construction. The form includes a site plan which must show exactly where the fence will be located in relation to the house and property lines in order to ensure the fence complies with the setback requirements for the property. Include this form with the permit application. (Exterior alterations of any kind in designated Historic Districts require approval from the Historic Design Review Board.) We are available to assist with any information needed with regard to the
location of property lines or questions regarding a specific project. We are
