Non-Sewered Water Services
The Homeowner/Resident must apply for a Non-Sewered Water Service by
filling out an Application
For Utility Service form. A
Plumbing permit
to install a non-sewered water service installation must be obtained from
Construction Services. All non-sewered water services must have a backflow
preventer. The backflow preventer must be installed immediately after the
non-sewered water meter as per the
sample
drawing.

A drawing of a typical non-sewered water service installation is
available from Construction Services. If an installation differs from
the typical drawing, a schematic of the proposed installation must be
furnished.

Notify Construction Services (785-7360) when the installation is ready
for inspection, and the Water Distribution Division (868-5902) when
ready for non-sewered water meter installation.

Residences with an in-ground sprinkling system must install a reduced
pressure type backflow preventer.

Residences with normal outside hose connections must install a backflow
preventer, (i.e.: Watts no. 7 Dual Check Valve or equal) and hose
connection vacuum breakers on all hose bibs connected to the Non-Sewered
Water System.

No winter read-outs will be made on non-sewered water services. Minimum
monthly billing charges will apply.
- No faucets, hoses or other devices for water use are permitted inside
the house on the non-sewered water service.

No cross-connection, either permanent or temporary is permitted between
the sewered and non-sewered water services.

The City has the right to inspect a non-sewered water service during
normal working hours or whenever it is deemed necessary. Failure to
comply with the above mentioned rules and regulations is cause for
discontinuance of a non-sewered water service.
