The Communications Section, operating out of the Police and Fire 911 Communications Center, serves the citizens of Hamilton on a twenty-four hour basis. The Communications Center for the City of Hamilton is responsible for dispatching all Police, Fire, and EMS calls in the city. With a state of the art, computerized dispatch center, this is the nerve center of the City and the first contact many citizens have with our City.

The Center is staffed with one Manager, three Shift Supervisors, and sixteen dispatchers. There is always a minimum of three dispatchers on duty and much of the time there are four on duty.

All 911 personnel are Emergency Medical Dispatch certified and certified in CPR as well. Each must complete continuing training and be re-certified every two years. Training personnel are accredited in order to conduct in-house training. All dispatchers follow nationally approved dispatch and pre-arrival protocol when dispatching medical runs. Police dispatching is based on Differential Police Response, which prioritizes calls in order of urgency. The Communications Center, along with the Police Department, is nationally accredited.

Hamilton's Communications Center is staffed with highly trained, motivated and caring personnel to protect and serve our City.
