The Honor Guard Unit consists of a group of police officer volunteers who assist with colors, funeral details, and flag folding techniques, marching, and rifle training, to include the twenty-one-gun salute. This unit has represented the Hamilton Police Department in a variety of functions such as parades, sporting events, full honors funerals, and dignitary ceremonies including the dedication of the Carruthers Police Plaza.

The Honor Guard Unit was an integral part in the dedication of the Carruthers Police Plaza. The Honor Guard Unit posted colors and presented a 21-gun salute in honor of Hamilton Police officers killed in the line-of-duty.

Members of this unit traveled to Washington, D.C. and participated in the National Police Officers Memorial Service.
