The Vice Section is comprised of a sergeant and four detectives. It is also the new home of the Problem-Oriented Policing (POP) officers. POP officers attack issues using creative and unique methods that eliminate the problem.

Vice investigators operate by learning the spooks, haunts, and modus operandi of criminals, and are responsible for the investigation and enforcement of state and federal laws related to gambling, prostitution, pornography, and illicit substances. The section's primary task is narcotics ring intervention and interdiction.

The responsibilities of the Vice Section, include follow-up investigation of vice and narcotics offenses, as well as primary duties to:
1. Support the line units by discreetly securing and analyzing highly sensitive information regarding movements of criminals and explore links to organized crime;
2. Monitor vice activities and study all procedures and legal avenues to maintain vice control; and
3. Suppress the abuse, distribution, and use of dangerous and illicit drugs.
