Gas and Water

The City of Hamilton Department of Gas and Water is a customer owned organization that supplies natural gas and water to our customer owners. It is our goal to provide the best rates in the State, backed by extremely reliable utility service and exceptional customer service.

Our natural gas system is the largest municipally owned gas utility in the State of Ohio and the 22nd largest in the United States. Within the last 15 years, as part of our commitment to provide safe, reliable service, the City of Hamilton made extensive upgrades to the infrastructure of the gas system.

The City of Hamilton has over 280 miles of water main through which it pumps an average 18.5 million gallons of water a day to over 23,000 customers in Hamilton, and portions of Butler County.
