HamiltonCARES is a program established by City Manager Joshua Smith in May 2012 that empowers individuals, businesses, neighborhood associations and business districts to improve their property values by proactively addressing distressed properties. HamiltonCARES will be coordinated by the City’s Volunteer Coordinator Karen Wittmer.
Apply for Work We are asking entities to notify the City of properties that need their lawn cut, simple landscaping (e.g., planting flowers) or basic maintenance (e.g., painting). The City will work with the titleholder of the property for permission to handle specific improvements. Once permission is obtained, the work performed has been agreed to and a waiver is signed, work may commence. The City will accommodate modest requests for trash bags, work gloves, etc.
Property Improvement If individuals or groups are interested in improving other facilities, including City of Hamilton facilities, please contact Karen Wittmer with your idea. This may include landscaping around public buildings, improving entryways into the Hamilton community, maintaining a park shelter or painting a City building (e.g., a golf course club house). All groups must sign a Liability Release Form (PDF).
