Natural Systems

The Natural Systems target area recognizes the wide range of services ecological systems provide such as food, clean air and water, and wildlife habitat, in addition to benefits like aesthetic value and recreation. In order to preserve and maximize these ecosystem functions, the Natural Systems target area emphasizes natural resource protection and integrating natural design with the built environment through the use of green infrastructure.
